JUL 28, 2015 LISTEN

Hearts of Oak' captain, Robin Gnagne has ended months of transfer speculation by extending his contract with the Phobians.

The 21 year old defender contract would expire at the end of the season but in a swift move by the club's management the Ivorian import has inked one year extension with the capital based club.

And as part of the conditions in the new contract, both player and the club agreed that the stalwart defender will sign an additional one year at the end next season if he doesn't secure a foreign deal.

Robin Gnagne after extending his stay with the club told the club's News Paper that - 'I believe this will end all the speculations about my future, it shows my loyalty to the Hearts. This is a big family and I have enjoyed every bit of my stay here, this is an excellent opportunity for me to develop and progress as a player because I have all the needed support and peace'.

He concluded- 'Most people felt I would have moved on but for me I still think this is the perfect place for me for now to continue to learn whilst hoping to help the club achieve success so I can leave a legacy here before I move on.  That is my big ambition for Hearts and I hope God will bless all that for me'.

Robin Gnagne joined Hearts of Oak from defunct second tier side, Red Bull Academy three seasons ago.
