Appreciation: Kotoko thank past executives for victory over Ashgold

Asante Kotoko have showed their appreciation to former executives of the club who offered a helping hand in their win against Ashgold.

The Porcupine Warriors prior to the Ashanti derby called on past Executives to help their idol club lift themselves from the near relegation and occupy a position that befit their status.

Sylvestre Asare Owusu, a former management committee chairman of the club and a host of other former executives availed themselves to talk to the playing body to boast their confidence ahead of the game.

Alhaji Ali Maradona, the deputy Operations Manager of the Porcupine Warriors on behalf of the management team of the club has thanked the past executives for the role they play and pronounced to assemble ex-executives of the club that same duty prior to their big clash against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

'We thank the past management members such as Sylvestre Asare Owusu, Nana Yaw Gyasi, Sarfo Gyamfi, Yaw Gyasi for contributing immensely to the victory we chalked over Ashgold.

'I am in Accra now talking to our past executives to assemble and motivate the playing body for our game against Hearts of Oak,' he told Metro fm.

Kotoko prior to that game had lost two consecutive league matches and an Elite Cup game making it three matches on the trot.

Asante Kotoko are sitting 11 on the league, while Hearts of Oak are lying 14 on the league ladder, making the encounter a make or break one, because none of them can afford to lose. Aside the rivalry that exist between them it is a battle to escape relegation.
