League Report Hearts fall, Relegation Threatened Kotoko Ready to Pounce on AshGold
JUL 26, 2015 LISTEN

The Porcupine Warriors, Asante Kotoko will today engage current league leaders AshantiGold fc in a crunch battle at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi as the First Capital Plus Premier League enters week 25.

Asante Kotoko is still looking bereft of ideas and the sooner coach David Duncan find a positive antidote to their problems, the better for him and the club as a whole because dropping point in today's match will come back to haunt the fabulous boys.

The soccer miners, AshGold are at the summit of the league ladder with 41 points whilst Kotoko who are suddenly finding it difficult to win matches in front of their home crowd at the Baba Yara Stadium lies thirteenth on the table with 29 points.

For Kotoko to pick the three maximum points at stake, they need to be at their whirling dervish form in other to out stage the soccer miners otherwise AshGold will inflict more misery on them.

My guts tell me AshGold will beat Kotoko but my brain knows better than to trust my gut so on that score I tip Kotoko to win.

The scientific soccer lads, Liberty Professionals will welcome the sensational West African Football Academy (WAFA) to the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman, Accra.

For my money, this is the match of the week because both clubs play very attractive, sexy and an eye-catching football and fans that will troop to Dansoman will surely be thrilled by both clubs.

Liberty Professionals are eleventh on the log with 31 points whilst WAFA deservingly occupy the third spot with 36 points. The home side looks slightly ahead in this encounter, but the visitors can equally surprise them.

At the Osahene Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa, Aduana Stars will play the unpredictable Inter Allies in a match which promises to be fiercely contested.

Since joining the elite league from the first Division, Aduana Stars have always been strong at home and may run away with the three points in this match. Currently, Aduana Stars are sixth on the league table with 35 points whilst Inter Allies are fourth with 36 points.

Wonder club, Great Olympics will play as host to Medeama Sporting Club at the Accra Sports Stadium. Olympics have been locked in the relegation bracket for weeks now, but a win over Medeama could elevate them from the relegation zone.

Medeama is seventh on the ladder with 33 points whilst the wonder club is fifteenth with just 26 points. On paper, Medeama is ahead of Olympics but trust the home side to conjure magic at the end of the day.

After been washed away by Hearts of Oak last Wednesday, Hearts of Lions will play as host to All Stars at their favourite Kpando Park. The home side is fourteenth on the log with 28 points whilst All Stars are fifth with 35 points.

At the Essipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi, Hasaacas will welcome relegation bound B.A United. The Hasmal boys are ninth on the table with 32 points and are the clear favourite in this encounter.

However, on Friday, second placed Berekum Chelsea lost 1-2 to Bechem United whilst Accra Hearts of Oak were beaten 2-1by New Edubiase United on Saturday.

PREDICTIONS
Asante Kotoko 3-2 AshGold
Liberty Prof. 2-1 WAFA
Aduana Stars 1-1 Inter Allies
Olympics 2-1 Medeama SC
Hearts of Lions 2-0 All Stars
Hasaacas 1-0 B.A United
Bechem United 2-1 Chelsea (FT)
New Edubiase 2-1 Hearts of Oak (FT)
