Free agent Jonathan Mensah has returned to his former club Evian TG for pre-season training ahead of his next move.
Mensah, who turned 25 on Monday, is available on a free after the expiration of his four-year contract with the Roses.
Evian TG's demotion to the French Ligue 2 means the Ghana international must search elsewhere for top-flight football.
However, he will not be able to play for that new club until after October following a four-month ban slapped on him for infringing on transfer rules with his move to Evian in 2011.
Mensah has played in two FIFA World Cups finals and three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana.
He was a member of the historic Black Satellites team which won the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup in Egypt.
