Kumasi Asante Kotoko have reached the MTN Cup finals after beating Premier League rivals, Aduana FC 3:1 in the semi finals.

Two goals by Christopher Bonney; one in each half set Kotoko on course but Godfred Saka gave Aduana Stars a glimmer of hope before Michael Akuffo sealed Kotoko’s 4th finals in five years.

Just after the half hour mark, Bonney hit a beautiful half volley to put the Porcupine Warriors ahead, which they held on till the break.

Bonney scored again to double Kotoko’s lead in the 65th minute.

As Aduana’s FA Cup dreams appeared to be fading away, they were handed a lifeline after Godfred Saka scored from the penalty spot in the 78th to reduced the deficit.

But any hope of Aduana staging what would have been a remarkable comeback was dashed by Michael Akuffo’s goal 8 minutes from time.

Kotoko held on tightly to book what is likely to be a mouthwatering final between either Medeama FC or their arch rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak.

Hearts of Oak and Medeama FC will play the other semi final match in Cape Coast on Sunday July 12.
