Former Ghana youth international Richard Ofori is relishing a successful second season with Portuguese topflight side Academica.

The left-back has vowed to give his uttermost best to help the club achieve a respectable position.

The 22-year-old was sidelined for almost 10 weeks due to injury last season but returned to finish strongly.

“Last season things did not go as expected, we fought a lot but things did not go well. This season we hope that with concentration and hard work can achieve our goals quickly,” the former Ghana U20 defender was quoted on the club’s website.

He continued: “I will give it my all. Last season I did my best but it was not enough, so now I have to give it everything. We are building a team, which is always difficult, and I ask the fans to be patient.”

Ofori started his football in Teshie with Zinaps FC (now in second division) and then joined lower tier side Mighty Jets before moving abroad.
