Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu insists he has never had to bribe his way into earning a call up into any of the national teams.

There is a widespread perception that national team coaches - especially with the junior sides - are heavily influenced with bribes in selecting players.

Winger Ishmael Yartey made a similar allegation against Sellas Tetteh in the lead up to the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup only to return years later to apologize.

This perception however lingers on unabated but Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is adamant he has not been ever confronted with such a situation.

“I had never encountered any coach asking me money to enter the national team or me giving any coach money,” the Udinese star told Metro TV.

Several national team coaches have suffered at the hands of this widespread allegation.

Former Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac was heavily criticized for some of his call ups to the Black Stars.

Many alleged that the Serbian was calling players to the national team not on merit but rather to enhance the business of his agency.
