Black Stars striker, Jordan Ayew has been named the best signing for the 2014/15 French Ligue 1 season on the back of his performances for Lorient whom he joined last summer.

The youngest son of Ghanaian football legend, Abedi Pele has become the latest recipient of the annual FCluk Award after beating Belgian and Olympique Marseille attacker, Mitchy Bathshuayi and Moroccan, Aymen Abdennour of AS Monaco to clinch the big gong.

Ayew won the award voted for by Ligue 1 fans across the globe after distinguishing himself as arguably Ghana's best forward in Europe last term, his 12 goals crucial to earning Lorient a stay in the French top football division.

The now 23-year-old who joined Lorient in a €5 million transfer deal from Olympique Marseille won Lorient's player of the month award twice and was also named in the Ligue 1 team of the week after scoring twice to help Lyon secure a famous 5-3 win at his old club, Marseille.

The budding striker was also on song for Ghana in-between as his goals helped the Black Stars reach the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final in Equatorial Guinea in February. Follow @thedonplato
