League Report Phobia blues: C.K Akunnor hits out at Hearts Board and Management
JUL 7, 2015 LISTEN

Former coach of Hearts of Oak C.K Akunnor has blamed the current Board and Management of the Accra based side for the club's poor outing in the ongoing Firs Capital Plus Bank Premier League.

The Phobians are yet to wow their fans and supporters in the ongoing league as their performance depicts their position on the league table, amassing 26 points in 21 games placed at the 12th position.

C.K Akunnor now coach of second tier side, Dreams FC, who  last two seasons handled Hearts of Oak but got fired due to lack of performance believes that the current challenge facing the club is due to poor leadership skills on the part of the club's Board and Management.

'What have they been doing? They've been there all these years and they talk about recruitment and everything. They are still there and they recruit the so called bad players and all that. What are they doing?

'This is a failure that they have not paid the players for three months. Even if it is one month, it is a failure. Not on the part of the coach but on the part of the board members and management. It is a failure,' Akunnor told Joy FM.

The former Eleven Wise trainer advised the current managers of the club to quit their post in order for fresh people to take over the club.

'They should go away for fresh ideas [to come on board]. They should go away for people to bring in new ideas.'

He also questioned why the board will turn their attention to the coach instead of themselves. '…Yet still [the management] won't look at [the important issues] but they will look at the coach. It is bad and we continue to do the same mistakes every time.'

'The board members are a failure. They are not doing well.'
