On 7th July, 2012, Berekum Chelsea scored a late goal to seal a 3-2 win against Zamalek in a Group B match in the CAF Champions League.

Emmanuel Clottey got his second hat trick in the 2012 CAF Champions League to give Chelsea an opening win at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra and extended his goal tally to nine after hitting six in the qualifying rounds and ultimate emerged the top scorer of the competition with 12 goals.

In the game Berekum Chelsea had to come back twice to beat Zamalek

Abdoulaye Cissé put the former champions in front after 21 minutes but Clottey drew his side level eight minutes later.

Cissé found the target again in the 34th minute as Zamalek held onto their lead into the break.

A minute after the interval, Clottey struck in the 46th minute to equalise for Chelsea.

Then in the 90th minute, the Ghana international completed his scoring form when he finally put Chelsea in the lead to cap a great afternoon of brilliance.

Chelsea finished 3rd in the group and missed out on the semi finals of the CAF Champions League.
