New chapter: Inkoom begins Boavista pre-season
06.07.2015 LISTEN

Samuel Inkoom has landed in Porto to begin the new phase of his career with Portuguese top flight side, Boavista.

Inkoom jumps straight into Boavista's pre-season training after completing medicals and physical examinations, the Ghanaian already strutting it out on the pitch with his new temmates.

And the 26 year old is raring to go having already sealed a 3-year deal.

"Pre-season is going well and I am happy with my new environment, club and team-mates. Boavista has a rich history in Portuguese club football and I am honoured to have signed for 'As Panteras'," Inkoom told 90 MINUTES in an interview.

"I am ready for my new challenge and I know I will come on top too because the price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand. There is no substitute for hard work," the 2009 U-20 World Cup winner added.

Inkoom' vast football CV has taken him to the Swiss league with Basel, then Dnipro, the Ukrainian club who finished runners-up in last season's UEFA Europa League as well as loan stints at French side Bastia and Platanias in the Greek Super League before DC United in the US MLS late last year.

Now though the Ghanaian is focused on the work at hand in Portugal and Inkoom has indicated a strong desire to "give everything for Boavista and give many joys to Boavisteiros" when the 2015/16 Primeira Liga season kicks off on August 15.

"Everything is possible because we have to believe we can make it to the top! The club is huge in Portugal and is over 100 years old with a magnificent history," Inkoom said of Boavista's targets next term.

"I love the new project club president and coach are currently working on for the upcoming season and I am super excited to be part of it," the Ghanaian continued.

"We know we'll have to keep working very hard and hit peak form at the right time. But we have the potential and if we deliver when it matters we have a good chance of doing something great," Inkoom affirmed. Follow @thedonplato
