Transfer Update: David De Gea and Raheem Sterling to report for pre-season

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has confirmed he will report for pre-season with the Old Trafford club on Monday despite reports linking him with a transfer move to Spanish club Real Madrid.

The Manchester club have targeted Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic in case Spain international De Gea leaves the club.

Arsenal are preparing a heavy transfer bid for Juventus player Arturo Vidal as the Italian Champions are now willing to sell the 28-year-old Chile international.

Reports in Chile also suggest Vidal is set to join Real Madrid.

Liverpool are ready to meet the £32.5 million buy-out clause for Aston Villa player Christian Benteke. Brendan Rodgers is keen on buying the 24-year-old Belgium international in the current transfer window.

Raheem Sterling could bag a £4 million cut of his agent's fee if Manchester City meet the £50 million asking price of Liverpool.

The Liverpool player will however report for pre-season training with Liverpool despite his participation being in doubt.
