League Report Hearts 1-2 Hasaacas: Herbert Addo blames players slow start
JUL 6, 2015 LISTEN

It was a familiar script, where the Phobian boss laid the blame of defeat at the feet of his team.

Herbert Addo has attributed Hearts of Oak’s home loss to Hasaacas to a lack of concentration from his boys. The trainer commended the opposition for their finishing instinct but denied they were better.

But the Phobians lost 2-1 to thanks to an early brace from Emmanuel Ankobiah. Philip Boampong's 66th minute consolation did not do much.

“Hasaacas did to us what we should have done to them in the first five minutes. Unfortunately, our concentration was so bad. They punished us for that. We keep making same mistakes, two people going for the same ball or the same man.

"The luck element was also on their side. The second goal I saw is not what the referee saw. It was totally different. That one I would not make comments about but generally, I think in the game we were mightier."

Hearts are currently 13th position on the log, a position they share with New Edubiase. Only a healthy goal difference sepatares the Accra giants from Edubiase.

For Hasaacas, it was a rare away win. This was their 11th game on the road this season, before which they'd recorded eight defeats and two draws.

That said, Herbert was particularly impressed with his side’s performance in the second half and felt they could have done a bit more to level.

“But I believe that the player are doing their best under the circumstances they find themselves and hopefully, we will bounce back to winning ways in subsequent matches.”
