Sports News Room for improvement: 'We will get better' - Owusu Bempah
JUN 30, 2015 LISTEN

Hearts of Oak deputy captain, Owusu Bempah says the worried fans of the club will see an improved performance from the team in the remaining second round matches of the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League.

The Phobians have picked up only six points from a possible fifteen in the second round of the First Capital Plus Premier League, having beaten Olympics, lost to Wa All Stars, and drawn with Ashantigold, Inter Allies and BA Utd.

However, Owusu Bempah who was shown a red card for head butting in last Sunday's league game against BA United concedes their recent results have been below expectation, but he is optimistic they will improve inthe coming games.

'The Wa result was a drawback, and so we were determined to pick up all the points against Inter Allies and BA Utd last;

 But that too did not go according to plan,' Bempah told the club's website.

'We created many good chances on the day and it was really distressing that we could not take all the three points. Before the start of the

second round, we had hoped that we will start winning all our matches and move up the table, but that has delayed a bit.

Bempah bemoans his side's firing power:  'We have to keep fighting hard, playing with determination, and not letting our head drop in order to come out of this patch. We are doing the right things on the field of play, we are creating the chances but we are only left with the finishing. Sometimes, it happens like that in football and because we are not winning consistently, we sort of feel sense of emergency".

He concluded: 'I think we can take a little positive from the fact that we are creating the chances, but we will work harder to improve our finishing. All the players are determined to improve their work rate on the field of play, and I believe we will all improve in the coming matches,'

The Phobians are now placed 11th on the log sheet with 26 points and their next league game is against Hasaacas at the Accra sport stadium on the 5th July, 2015.
