Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is set to join Stoke City after spending the day negotiating a deal at the English Premier League side, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 24-year-old started talks with the English side on Monday morning after arriving in England over the weekend seeking to seal the deal with the Potters.

Stoke have targeted the Italy-based midfielder as replacement for Steven N`Zonzi who is likely to leave the club after a recent stand-off, Ghana’s leading football news website can reveal.

With the possibility of N`Zonzi failing to agree terms at the Britannia Stadium, Badu could be a like for like replacement for the French midfielder.

The Udinese enforcer, 24, has been linked with a move to the English top-flight in recent media claims and his arrival in England solidified the rumours.

Badu, who is currently under contract with Italian Serie A side Udinese Calcio, is eager to quit the Stadio Communale Friuli after six seasons and would consider a move to Watford who are also owned by Udinese owners.

However an unnamed Qatari side are keen on signing the Black Stars midfielder on a speculated $3 million a year contract.

Badu featured 27 times for Udinese last seasoned and scored once.
