Christian Atsu endured a torrid spell at Everton

Ghana winger Christian Atsu expects an improved season at Bournemouth following his initial struggle in the English Premiership.

The 23-year-old will be playing in his second successive season in the English top flight after spending last season on loan at Everton.

Atsu has had very little success since joining Chelsea - where he is yet to make his debut – in the summer of 2013.

He excelled on loan at Vitesse, finishing the 2013/14 season as their best player.

The skillful winger who endured a torrid time in his debut campaign in the Premier League in another loan stint with Everton now says he is ready to explode having improved on his confidence.

'It was a new league and I needed to build up my confidence,' Atsu told GHANAsoccernet.com as he recounted his torrid spell at Everton.

'But with the experience gained and having seen how the Premier League is like I think I can have a better season this time.'

The former FC Porto man is yet to realize his fullest potential in his club career.

He was however highly impressive for Ghana at the 2015 AFCON where he emerged the Player of the Tournament.
