10 facts you need to know about Asamoah Gyan's 'Rape' case

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has been in the news for bedding a 22-year-old university female student Sarah Kwabla who has filed rape and sodomy charges against the Al Ain talisman. 

1.Asamoah Gyan has admitted sleeping with her but says it was consensual.

According to Asamoah Gyan, he slept with Sarah once in her apartment. He however has insisted that the act was consensual contrary to recent claims by the girl.

2. The girl earlier said it was consensual but later changed it to rape.

According to Police sources, the lady in her official statement to the police said the act was consensual but midway into investigations, she sent a text message to Asamoah that she's changed her mind and that what happened between them was rape.

3. The Girl Is Pregnant.
Whatever happened between Asamoah and Sarah has 'produced' a pregnancy which has been confirmed by two medical scans.

4. The age of the pregnancy doesn't tally with the date she and Asamoah had sex.

Even though the girl has been confirmed pregnant, the age of the pregnancy doesn't tally with the date the two had sex. Apparently, both medical scans on the girl gave the same result. This makes it doubtful that it is for Asamoah Gyan.

5. Asamoah Gyan has demanded a paternity test to ascertain if he's indeed responsible for the pregnancy.

Although Asamoah Gyan has admitted sleeping with the girl, he believes he's not responsible for the pregnancy and has demanded a paternity test to be conducted to ascertain the truth. He has however indicated his preparedness to take care of the pregnancy and the girl should it turn out that he is indeed responsible for it.

6. The girl is demanding a monthly allowance of $1,000, a furnished apartment and a housemaid.

The girl is already making demands on Asamoah Gyan. She wants a fully furnished apartment, a housemaid and a monthly allowance of $1000. Asamoah has got the money but we're not sure if he'll like to spend it this way.

7. The girl did not show up for the paternity test.

When investigations into the case began, the need to ascertain if indeed Asamoah is responsible for the pregnancy became apparent. A date (23rd June,2015) was therefore set to have a paternity test conducted but Miss Sarah didn't show up.

8. Asamoah Gyan has given her GH¢2000 for ante-natal care pending the paternity test.

As a sign to show responsibility, Asamoah Gyan has given out an amount of GHc2000 to take care of the girls ante-natal care whiles they wait for the paternity test to verify if he is indeed responsible for the pregnancy.

9. She has contracted controversial lawyer, Maurice Ampaw to represent her.

The girl in the center of this scandal has contracted none other than our very own controversial celebrity lawyer, Maurice Ampaw. It is worth noting that Asamoah Gyan recently filed a law suit against Maurice for certain comments he deemed defamatory that Maurice made against him in the Castro case. Such coincidence.

10. The affair took place in February
The affair in question actually took place in February this year. Quite a long time before claims started coming out.
