Ghanaian midfielder Nana Addo rejoins Atalanta after NK Krka loan spell

Ghanaian international midfielder Nana Addo Welbeck has returned to Italian Serie A side Atalanta after ending his loan spell with Slovenian side NK Krka.

Atalanta signed the 20-year-old from Serie B outfit Brescia but quickly loaned him out to the SNL league side in a bid to enable him earn more first team experience.

While on loan with Krka, Addo scored twice in 27 appearances and is hoping to use his first team experience to seal his place in the Atalanta first team squad.

Addo is currently on holiday in Italy and will join Atalanta for their pre-season campaign which begins in two weeks time.

He bid an emotional farewell to Krka fans and team-mates as well as the club’s technical bench.

I would like to thank God, the coach, the entire professional staff, his teammates and the fans. I hope that the future will be even more successful season,” he said emotionally.

“I’m impressed that we beat Bolton and not only because we are still stuck in the League, but also because we came to seventh place. This proves that never quitting,” he added.
