Ghana attacker David Accam has returned to the United States of America to rejoin Chicago Fire after scoring his debut goal for the Black Stars in their 7-1 hammering of Mauritius in the 2017 AFCON qualifier on Sunday.

The 24-year-old scored his first goal in the Ghana colours after stepping out of the dug-out in the 81st minute to replace Jeffrey Schlupp and scoring late in the game.

Chicago Fire slipped to a 2-0 loss against New England Revolution in the absence of the lethal attacker who has netted four times for them this season.

Accam left the shores of Ghana on Monday night to join his team-mates ahead of their US Open Cup clash against Louisville City on Wednesday.

“I’m leaving town now to rejoin my club,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
