Government says Sulley Muntari needs NOT to apologize for World Cup barbaric act to be recalled into Black Stars

AC Milan ace Sulley Muntari is not required to apologize for his unruly behaviour at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals before being re-admitted into the Black Stars, according to Government’s White Paper.

According to to the White Paper, an apology should be a voluntary act of contrition on the player’s part but no a requirement to return to the national team

It read: “Any apology from Mr. Sulley Muntari as recommended should be a voluntary act of contrition on his part but should not be made a condition for his recall into the team.”

Muntari was suspended indefinitely from the national team after he punched a Black Stars management committee member Moses Armah without any provocation.

The Ghana FA told Muntari to grovel to the federation and the victim before being recalled but the 30-year-old has still not complied.

The World Cup Commission of Inquiry recommended three conditions as bases for Muntari's re-invitation including seeing a psychologist for counseling and or undergo anger therapy.

1. An unconditional apology to Mr. Moses Armah
2. An unconditional apology to the President of the Republic of Ghana, the Commission and to Ghanaians in general.
3. Referral to a psychologist for counseling and /or undergo anger therapy.
