Accra, Aug. 31, GNA - The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) is yet to fix a date for the finals of its Special Knock Out Competition while the second leg of the semi final matches will be cleared on Wednesday, September 1.
This follows series of both local and international assignments on the football calendar with the Black Stars scheduled to take on Cape Verde on Sunday, September 5, while Kumasi Asante Kotoko, one of the semi finalists in the Knockout competition is to make a trip to Sudan to face Al Hilal in the Confederations Cup competition.
In view of this situation, the Association is awaiting the outcome of the second leg game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and King Faisal in order to determine the date for the final match.
Mr Kudjo Fianoo, Administrative Manager of GHALCA told the GNA Sports that the decision to keep the date hanging was due to the participation of Kotoko in the Confederations Cup.
He said the qualification of Kotoko to the finals of the competition would mean that the Association has to fix a date that will not be in conflict with their continental assignment.
Mr Fianoo noted that "should King Faisal advance to the finals, then the match for the finals would be played on September 12, since the two finalist would not have any continental assignments.
