The GFA Disciplinary Committee has fined Proud United and Eleven Wise GH¢500.00 each in respect of their GN Bank Division One League match played in Kasoa.

The two clubs were charged for failing to control the their7 players when they engaged in a brawl with the players of the Sekondi Eleven Wise FC at the entrance of changing room in violation of Articles 51, 52 and 59 of the Disciplinary Code and Articles 35(4), 35(7)(d) and 35(10) the GFA General Regulations.

DEFENCE
Proud United SC in its Statement of Defence pleaded not guilty to the charge and requested for a personal hearing to defend the charges against the club.

Sekondi Eleven Wise in its Statement of Defence also pleaded not guilty to the charge and requested for a personal hearing to defend the charges against the club.

PROCEEDINGS AND FINDINGS
The Committee examined the depositions in the Charge Sheet, the oral defence of the clubs and the reports of the match officials of the said match.

In its defence, Proud United explained that it has never had any disciplinary issue before in its history and that the players are well behaved. Proud United SC also stated that the players of both teams were only playing pranks with each other and that they were not fighting as the match reports claimed.

On its part, Sekondi Eleven Wise explained that its players did not engage in a fight as the match reports claimed and have always had a good sporting relationship with players of Proud United SC.

The Committee holds that it will side with the presumption under Article 85 of the Disciplinary Code on the facts stated in the match report as the clubs have not been able to disprove the facts on the Match Commissioner's report. That playing of mere pranks would not have required the security to separate them.

The Disciplinary Committee was satisfied with the evidence before it that the conduct of the players amounted to misconduct and a breach of Regulations of the GFA and shall accordingly apply the necessary sanction against Proud United SC in this respect.

DECISION ON PROUD UNITED
The Disciplinary Committee makes the following decisions:

1. That the Committee having satisfied itself that the evidence adduced before it supports the charge of misconduct against the players of Proud United SC, hereby imposes a fine of Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢500.00) on the club in accordance with Article 39(1)(b) of the GFA General Regulations.

2. That the fine mentioned in Decision 1 above, shall be paid to the GFA within fourteen (14) days upon receipt of this Ruling, failing which Proud United SC shall automatically forfeit all subsequent matches after the said deadline in accordance with Article 15(b) of the GFA Disciplinary Code and Article 39(8)(b), 39(8)(d) and 39(8)(f) of the First Amendment to the GFA General Regulations.

3. That should any party be dissatisfied with or aggrieved by this Decision, the party has within three (3) days of being notified of this Ruling to appeal to the Appeals Committee (See Article 37(11) of the General Regulations of the GFA).

2. That the fine mentioned in Decision 1 above, shall be paid to the GFA within fourteen (14) days upon receipt of this Ruling, failing which Sekondi Eleven Wise shall automatically forfeit all subsequent matches after the said deadline in accordance with Article 15(b) of the GFA Disciplinary Code and Article 39(8)(b), 39(8)(d) and 39(8)(f) of the First Amendment to the GFA General Regulations.
