Daniel Haziel wants local players to be motivated

Young rising midfielder, Daniel Haziel has urged selectors of the national teams of Ghana and Premier Clubs scouts to open their doors wide to unknown players who can change the tide of Ghana Football.

Haziel, an under 20m player who featured for the Youth team of New Edubease for some time and now playing for a division two side in Accra said, young players are most often discouraged by favouritism by coaches who cannot read the game of football or determine who is a best player for a particular position.

Speaking to yours truly, the player who some fans in Mamprobi and Chorkor compare to the youthful days of Michael Essien hinted that he can play better than most premiership stars, but he is not even known.

“I know my time will come, I am training very seriously to catch the eyes of the national coaches and one day my star will shine. I just want to wear the national colours, because I know I can do it” he said.

Daniel Haziel who is at times compared to Kofi Abanga of Accra Hearts of Oak fame started his football at Standfast colts club, before joining Mighty Victory, the club that has produced the likes of Stephen Appiah, Ali Jarra, and Michael Anane Mensah, Emmanuel Clottey, Asamoah Gyan, Michael Essien and others.

His hard work took him to Proud United in the Central Region and he moved to New Edubease for more action.

He noted that young local players are not motivated enough to play unless they have the zeal and financial support of well-wishers, and commended philanthropists who invest in football.

However due to pressures, he decided to come back to Accra to register for a division two side Bionic FC, to see if he would be selected for trails outside Ghana to develop his talent.

Daniel Haziel attended Ebenezer 5 JHS ay Mamprobi and his hobbies are watching cartoons and football on TV. His best dish is rice and fish stew. His idols are Ramirez of Chelsea and Obed Ansah, of Accra Hearts of Oak fame. He also loves to be named Kofi Abanga.

According to his caretaker and manager, Mr. Nicholas Dodoo, it takes one day for a coach to spot the talent and sign him.

Mr. Dodoo believes his boy has watch it takes to play because Haizel is disciplined, a very hard worker on the field and very technical.
