Sports News Transfer Update: Leicester contact Essien, no contact from Roma for Boateng
MAY 29, 2015 LISTEN

English Premier League club Leicester City have reportedly approached Ghanaian player Michael Essien over a possible transfer return to England after the club secured their place in the league.

Essien is set to leave current Italian club AC Milan and Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has keen interest in signing the 32-year-old former Chelsea player.

The Black Stars midfielder who is also wanted by Greek club Panathinaikos was reported to have rejected a move to Leicester City back in January.

Kevin-Prince Boateng has not had any offers from Italian club AS Roma according to his agent.

The Ghanaian midfielder who was released by German club Schalke 04 a few weeks ago was reported to be heading to Italy but agent Federico Pastorello refuted claims saying to LaRoma24.it:

'Kevin Prince Boateng is exclusively my client that I manage with my business partner, Edoardo Crnjar. Kevin is a very important player and can play at all the top clubs in Europe.

'That said, however, I have not had contact with Walter Sabatini regarding this. Roma, though, are a big club.'

Jordan Ayew is a transfer target of new Lille coach Renard Herve as the manager has confirmed his interest in the Ghanaian striker.

Liverpool have made a transfer bid of around £9 million for Southampton full back Nathaniel Clyne. Southampton have rejected the offer for the 24-year-old but Liverpool are set to return with an improved offer according to the Daily Express.

Burnley striker Danny Ings is poised to chose between a transfer move to Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur as both clubs are interested in the 23-year-old, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Aston Villa will be powerless to stop a transfer move for Christian Benteke if Liverpool meet the £32 million buyout clause for the Belgium striker, the Times report.
