League Report Past glory: Hearts and Kotoko are mediocre clubs - Yahaya Mohammed
MAY 28, 2015 LISTEN

Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko are teams in the past, according to Aduana Stars new acquisition Yahaya Mohammed.

The former  Kotoko striker says gone were the days when every player's dream was to dorn the attire of the two most glamorious clubs in the history of Ghana football, stressing that the two clubs have become mediocre in recent times.

Yahaya Mohammed was reported to be hearding to Hearts of Oak, but he signed a two year contract with the former league champions Aduana  Stars this month.

"[Asante] Kotoko and Hearts [of Oak] have become mediocre clubs. Any player can easily wear their jerseys to play for the clubs. Gone are the days when both clubs had talented players coming from the bench to do wonders  and you get amazed by the pool of talents available in the country,' Yahaya Mohammed who became a free agent after parting ways with Al Ittihad Tripoli of Libya told Happy Fm.

"In the days of Stephen Oduro only the best were known to play for Hearts and Kotoko, but these days what do we see, the direct opposite. Both teams have some players that if it were to be in the past, won't even have the chance to play justifier with them, but today they are playing for them," he noted.

The outspoken striker added that, players of Kotoko do not care whether they win or lose.

'The funny thing is that you will see either Kotoko or Hearts players do not care about results. When they lose the players won't care. How is that possible?' he quizzed.

Yahaya Mohammed won the Ghana Premier league with Kumasi Asante Kotoko last season.
