Former Ghana coach E.K Afranie believes Sulley Muntari's quality is too immense to earn him an easy return to the Black Stars once he apologizes for his shameful behaviour at the 2014 World Cup.

The 30-year-old is widely reported to be ready to send his long-awaited apology to the Ghana FA almost a year on after physically abusing a management member of the Black Stars at the height of agitation of players over delayed payment of promised appearance fee.

Muntari has since been handed an indefinite ban from the Black Stars with the GFA demanding an apology before he is considered for selection into the team.

There is however a growing feeling that the former Inter Milan man will struggle to get back into the squad once he becomes eligible for selection due to his problems at his club.

But coach E.K Afranie who also nurtured the midfielder at youth level says Muntari is such a good player he would not struggle to get back into the side.

“When he apologizes, they should take him back of course on merit,” he said.

“But he is such a good player even the players know this.

“So he should be in the team.”
