Black Stars attacker David Accam emerged out of suspension to play for Chicago Fire in their 2-2 away draw with New York City FC on Saturday morning in the American Major League Soccer.

The 24-year-old was available for selection after picking a red card while in action against Kansas Sporting City a fortnight ago.

Fire manager Frank Yallop handed a starting berth to the lightening-paced attacker and he lasted until the 88th minute when he was replaced by Jamaican Jason Johnson.

Though the former Helsingborg IF star was returning after sitting out of a game, his influence on the game was no mean less. He caused RJ Allen to be sent off as early as the 26th minute at the Yankees Stadium but the visitors could not make their numerical advantage count.

If ever a game encapsulated all that is right and wrong with a team, the Chicago Fire's dramatic 2-2 tie at New York City FC gave a vivid illustration of the work needed to be done by head coach Frank Yallop.
