Accra, May 4, GNA - AS Djoliba Coach, Ivan Minnaert has attributed his sides' failure to reach the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup at the expense of Hearts of Oak to lack of clinical finishing.

Minnaert charges won the second leg in Accra by a lone goal but failed to progress despite tying the fixture by 2-2 on aggregate over two legs.

''We had two or three chances to take but it did not happen. At our home grounds, we played very well and dominated play and even in Accra here. We have to score but our attack was not strong to score a goal which was our problem.

''From the defence to midfield, we played well. And for Heart of Oak to progress, it depends on their opponent and the quality of play''.

He claimed only luck aided Phobians' progress in the competition.

''We did our best and gave it our all but in the end, Hearts of Oak managed to qualify further in the competition. I believe they were just lucky on the away goal rule because that saved them.'

Hearts of Oak await their next opponent on Tuesday when the pairings are drawn.
