04.05.2015 LISTEN

Medeama have issued a strongly worded statement to deny reports its planning to offload 50% shares to former sports minister Mahama Ayariga.

The Mauve and Yellows are angry with the 'cooked up' story, labeling it as distasteful, mischievous, fabrication and concocted and can only emanate from a journalist who lack the basic understanding and know-how of his profession.

“Our attention has been drawn to an online publication which claimed Medeama president Moses Armah is planning to sell 50% share of the club to former Sports minister Mahama Ayariga, a statement on the cub's official website read on Monday.

“We find the report as completely false, distasteful, mischievous, fabrication and concocted  and can only come from a journalist who lack the basic understanding and know-how of his profession.

“Medeama president Moses Armah has NOT met anyone to discuss the long-term future of the club and has no plans of selling a stake in the club.

“The story is baked in the dilapidating kitchen of falsehood and served on the cracked plate of malicious attempt to destabilize our team.

The statement added: “The club will also like to place on record that it has fulfilled all its obligation to the coach and players and not struggling to survive as others will want our fans to believe.

“We admit that there are clear economic difficulties grappling every sector of the economy, but the club has remained resolute and fulfilled its contractual obligations to all stakeholders.

“We would like to appeal to our supporters to treat the 'cooked up' story with all the contempt it deserves and not measure it with any respect. It's absolutely rubbish and calculated to disrupt our rhythm.

“The board and management wishes to congratulate the players for their sterling performances after ending the first half of the season in fourth.”
