Baffour Gyan Mensah says he is a perpetually elated father due to the exploits if his son Asamoah Gyan.

The Black Stars captain is considered one of the greatest players to have emerged in Ghana due to his staggering achievements both at club and international level.

Gyan is currently the all-time leading scorer for the Black Stars with 46 goals in 90 appearances.

He is also the leading scoring African in the history of the World Cup finals with six goals.

The former Sunderland man's record at his current club Al Ain is even more voluminous having emerged top scorer of the UAE top flight three times since arriving in 2011.

And in all those times except for once have won the domestic top flight with Al Ain.

The immense achievements of the 29-year-old makes Baffour Gyan Mensah a proud father.

“I want to thank God for putting me n such a position,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com after making a donation to the Methodist Synod on Wednesday.

“I was blessed to have kids – Baffour and Asamoah – who played football to the highest level. This makes me very proud.

“Now my name is even lost. All you here nowadays is Baby Jet, Baby Jet and that is very refreshing and heartwarming.”

Baffour Gyan Mensah donated 30 bags of Mama Vits Rice to support the 54th Synod of the Methodist church currently ongoing in Accra on Wednesday.

His eldest son, Baffour Gyan also played for the Black Stars as a striker.
