National duty: Godwin Attram eyes Black Stars call up
28.04.2015 LISTEN

Accra Great Olympics skipper, Godwin Attram says his return to local scene is not motivated by a Black Stars call but he will answer the call if he is deemed good enough to help the national team.

The former PSV Eindhoven striker return to the local scene has helped Great Olympics to vacate the bottom half of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League table, and he was at his best again on Sunday during the 'Mantse Derby' at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Some Ghanaian football fans are clamoring for his return to the national team, but he says he returned to Ghana to make the Ghana league exciting.

"I didn't join the local league because I want a Black Stars return," Attram told Accra-based radio station, Joy FM.

"I joined the local league to show Ghanaians that experience players can do well in the league and because our league has gone down the drain and people are always watching Western football and do not concentrate on our league.

"I joined the league with Olele (Richard Kingson) Dan Quaye and the others to make it exciting.

"But if journalists and Ghanaians believe that this guy (Godwin Attram) has something in him and can help the nation and I get a call - up, I will answer the call."
