Accusing finger: David Duncan: Referee gifted Edubiase the late equalizer

David Duncan wasn't pleased with the one point secured from their away game against New Edubiase United on Sunday and has therefore indicated that poor refereeing decision against the league champions denied them victory.

Kotoko fought from a goal down to lead the New Edubiase lads by 2-1, but late goal from Haminu Dramani prevented the Porcupine Warriors from repeating last season's score line against Ebubiase at the Bekwai Gyamfi Park.

David Duncan admitted that New Edubiase improved on their performance, but when quizzed about the performance of the referee he stated that the equaliser from the home team was a gift from him.

'Edubiase played very well, coming up against Kotoko you shouldn't expect that a team would under-perform.  Any team playing against Kotoko plays above themselves and Edubiase was no different'  Duncan said in a post-match interview.

'You are the judges of the performance of referees and perhaps even coaches and the performance of players.  perhaps players, so do it.

It is not my duty to judge them, but I thought that he (referee) gifted, to a very large extent he gifted Edubiase their equaliser which is their second goal."

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will face their boggy side, Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi on Wednesday to close the chapter on the first round of the First Capital Plus Premier League.
