Ghanaian forward and FC Lorient player Jordan Ayew grabbed the headlines on Friday night when his side travelled to play Olympique Marseille in the French Ligue 1, a club where his senior brother Andre Ayew plays.

Jordan found the back of the net twice and had an assist to his name in the 5-3 victory for his side, overshadowing the more experienced Andre Ayew who also scored the goal for Marseille.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Jordan Ayew showed his delight in his performance and also acknowledged the tactics and team work from his Lorient side.

Jordan Ayew told beIN Sports after the game:
'I think this was my best match of my time in France. I was re-compensated for all the efforts I had been putting in for some years now.

'I thank God and my mother who called me to tell me I would score. The change in tactic did a lot of good. We worked on it all week and it came out well.

The Ghanaian forward also showed appreciation to Cote d'Ivoire coach Herve Renard who watched the game between the Ayew brothers on Friday night:

'I would like to appreciate Herve Renard because he was the one who put me on the professional football path and I thank him for that.'

The two goals Jordan Ayew scored on the night took his tally in the French Ligue 1 season to 11 goals. Follow @kboakye92
