Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Vincent Asamoah says his sector is looking at opportunities to engage the Accra Sports stadium more in order to fix the nonfunctional score board.

The Accra Sports stadium, affectionately known as the nation's Wembley, has been unable to host the Black Stars partly due to the non-functional scoreboard.

The scoreboard has not functioned for over three years, rendering the Accra Sports stadium docile to international football.

League games have however gone on smoothly at the venue despite the patent challenges at the once glittering arena.

'I think we have not utilized the stadium very well to generate the money to fix the scoreboard,' Vincent Asamoah told Citi FM.

'Apart from league games that are played there on the weekends it's very difficult to see the stadium being used and I think we all have to look at the opportunity to use it more to generate money to fix it.'

Debates have raged on in the past as to whether the various stadia should be used for non-footballing activities but clearly from the deputy ministers take, Ghanaians will have to begin to accept that the stadia will have to be loaned out to generate income to repair the scoreboard
