USA-based goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey says has rejected reports in the Ghanaian media that he wants Black Stars glovesmen trainer Nassam Yakubu to be sacked or replaced before he returns to play for the four-time African champions.

Despite his denials, Kwarasey implies that his last stint with the Ghana technical team at the World Cup negatively affected his form and wants to ensure that he maintains his ‘level or get better not the opposite’ when he decides to return to the Black Stars.

Yet his claim that his form dipped during is an indictment on the competence of Ghana’s goalkeepers’ trainer Nassam Yakubu who was in charge at the tournament in Brazil.

The Portland Timbers goalkeeper has refused several Ghana call-ups since the World Cup in Brazil in June claiming strange things led to his dropping from the starting line-up ahead of the pulsating 2-2 draw against world champions Germany.

Kwarasey subsequently launched a damaging tirade at the entire Ghana set-up during the tournament in Brazil in an interview with the Norwegian newspaper Verdang Gang .

The Portland Timbers is embarking on a massive charm offensive insisting he did not call for the sacking of goalkeepers’ trainer Nassam Yakubu.

“I have read and heard that I expect the goal keeper’s trainer to be changed for me.It’s not true.I don’t expect anything to be changed for me,” Kwarasey told Allsports.com.gh.

“The only thing I expect is that I will come there and work and maintain my level or get better not the opposite.

“I work with what I have but I have a club and I have to be honest with myself and with my club.

If it’s not good for me i need to think twice about it but like I have said the new coach in place is however a major step in the right direction.”

Kwarasey met coach Avram Grant last week over the possibility of his return for Ghana .
