Adam Kwarasey has been out of the Black Stars for almost a year now

Adam Kwarasey has passed another damning verdict on Black Stars goalkeeper's trainer Nassam Yakubu – saying his form drops whenever he is on international duty.

The 27-year-old is on a self-imposed exile from the Black Stars since the disastrous campaign at the 2014 World Cup.

New coach Avram Grant has been making efforts to return the Portland Timbers goalkeeper back to the Black Stars fold since taking over late last year.

The former Chelsea boss' latest move in that direction was to travel to Kwarasey's base in the US to hold discussions.

But the former Stromsgodset captain still has concerns over the competencies of Ghana's backroom staff – especially goalkeeper's trainer Nassam Yakubu – who remains at post despite the dismissal of Kwesi Appiah.

“I [Adam Kwarasey] don't want to say anything bad about anybody but I always say [coaches] must always try and  get the best out of their players  and in my situation I did not feel that the people in charge at the time were capable of helping me to reach my full potential because when I got to camp before the World Cup I felt really good and I was in great form but by the time our tournament ended, I was not in that same form so somewhere along the line something must have happened,” Kwarasey told Allsports.com.gh.

“I have always wanted to play for the national team.

“Every time I have enjoyed it but my last experience I did not enjoy and it was other things other than playing football that caused that.

“It has been almost a year and I am an older person with a new focus and priorities. My son for example who was born during the World Cup is a big part of my thoughts. I will always love to play for the national but if it's a situation where you do not enjoy it and lose your form then I have to think twice.”

Kwarasey's concerns over the level of coaching in his department has sparked debates in the past.

While some believe Nassam Yakubu in incompetent and ought to be replaced especially with the exit of Kwesi Appiah, others say it will form a bad precedent for many other changes to occur at the behest of players.

Nassam Yakubu has however always insisted he maintains a good relationship with Adam Kwarasey despite reports of a fall out at the World Cup in Brazil.
