Albert Adomah and his English Championship club Middlesbrough took a huge step in their quest for qualification into the English Premier League on Friday night.

Middlesbrough travelled to Norwich City who led Adomah's club by a point ahead of the game in top of the table clash for promotion.

Alexander Tettey put the ball at the back of his own net in the early moments of the game as Middlesbrough held on to claim all crucial three points on the night.

Adomah and his Middlesbrough side are now top of the English Championship with 84 points, having played a game more than second placed AFC Bournemouth who have 83 points. Middlesbrough now only have two league games to play.

The first two clubs in the Championship qualify to the English Premier League with the third to sixth teams set to fight for the last spot in a series of play-off games.

Adomah played in the entire duration of the game, receiving a yellow card booking in the 64 minute.
