Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Osei Banahene hopes to extend his impressive form after scoring on his league debut for Al Ismaily on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old's solitary strike handed the Yellow Dragons a crucial win at Petrojet on the resumption of the Egyptian top flight earlier this week.

Banahene has been in free scoring form since arriving from Al-Orobah in January as the substantive replacement for compatriot John Antwi who was sold to Al Shabaab.

The ex Inter Allies and Heart of Lions striker celebrated his debut league goal as the appropriate reward for his continued hard work and believes it is a sign of more things to come.

“Honestly, I felt very happy as I was working very hard to score on my league debut,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“It is nice always when you work very hard and it pays off like that.

“I will continue to work very hard and pray to God so I keep scoring.”

The win sees Ismaily rise to fifth in the Egyptian top flight, just a point adrift a place in the top four.
