Kotoko Increase Player Bonus …Ahead of El-Eulma Game

The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has increased the qualification bonus for players ahead of their titanic Africa Champions League clash with MC El-Eulma of Algeria.

With this new arrangement, Kotoko players would now take home $600 each instead of the original $400, if they eliminate their opponents from the Africa Champions League on Sunday.

The move is management's way of motivating the players, who drew goalless with their Algerian counterparts in the first leg, to go all out and book a place in the next stage of the competition.

The increase in the player bonus is said to have excited the playing body who are preparing feverishly for Sunday's cracker, scheduled for the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Speaking on Angel FM, Kotoko striker, Ahmed Toure said the spirit in camp was high ahead of the Sunday's crunch tie, adding that there was no pressure on the Kotoko players.

The Ivorian national, stated emphatically that 'I am hundred percent sure that Kotoko will beat the Algerians on Sunday and book a place in the next stage of the Africa Champions League.'

Meanwhile, Kotoko players are training on penalty kicks, as the game could be decided on penalties if the second leg ends goalless.

Kotoko Coach, David Duncan, told newsmen they were leaving no stone unturned in their bid to qualify for the next stage of the competition.

Coach Duncan was confident Kotoko would finish the game within the stipulated 90 minutes, but said his charges awere being taken through the penalty kicks at training to prevent any unforeseen shock.
