Hearts of Oak goalkeepers' trainer Edward Ansah says Tetteh Luggard cannot be blamed for the club's 2-1 defeat at Inter Allies last Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.

Luggard suffered verbal abuses from the fans for what they describe as his lame performance in the reverse at the

He got the nod to start in the absence of Abdoulaye Soulama who was away on international duty with Burkina Faso.

“From the technical point of view, I will not blame Luggard for all two goals in the Inter Allies game,” he told Ghana Football News

“I will rather place the blame on the both the defenders and the midfielders, since they failed to close down the opponents, exposing the goalkeeper.

“He is a good goalkeeper, and one of the best keepers in the league. Though sometimes he makes some basic mistakes, I cannot blame him entirely for some of the goals he has conceded in post for the team, sometimes we need to shift the blame to the defenders as well.

“Some players are not self motivated and the least negative thing breaks them easily. So we should learn as supporters to criticize constructively during defeat.”
