Former coach of Hearts of Oak Mohammed Polo has accused Gilbert Fiamenyo of cheating on his age and insists the striker can never rise to play at the highest level.

Fiamenyo, 22, has hit a rich vein of form and is currently the leading scorer in the Ghanaian top flight.

His return to form has excited many – in particular the Hearts fans who believe the striker is now beginning to repay the huge investment made in his signing three years ago from Heart of Lions.

But the club's immediate past coach, Mohammed Polo has accused the player of cheating on his age and for that reason he is past his prime.

“Fiamenyo? It is too late for him,” Polo told Montie FM.

“He cannot make it. He is a fantastic player but he is not serious.

“He now wants to make it? Even his age won't let him.

“It looks as if he doesn't know what he wants in his football career.

“He has sat down for far too long and now he wants to play at the highest level?

“He is too old and thus must give chance to the younger ones who are up and coming.

“I doubt his age.”
Gilbert Fiamenyo leads the scorer's chart in the First Capital Plus League having scored eight goals in 12 matches.
