Philemon McCarthy wants to sign for Kotoko

Ex-Hearts goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy has issued a 'come and get me plea' to Kotoko after admitting he would love to reunite with his former coach David Duncan.

The 25-year-old is currently unattached after leaving the capital-based side following the expiration of his contract.

The ex-Great Olympics shot-stopper has revealed his desire to reunite with his former coach at Kotoko.

“I'd be really interested in moving to Kotoko, to team up with David Duncan,” he said on Sports XTRA on Viasat 1.

“Duncan is one of the best coaches I've worked with and I wish to work him again.” I got an idea of how much influence such a good coach can have in my football.”

“I have played for clubs in the Central Region and Greater Accra, but now I think it's time to try a new philosophy in the Ashanti Region.”

The former Feyenoord Academy product is also tossing with the idea of joining Ashantigold but explained his preference for the Ghanaian champions.

“Ashgold is an option, but playing for a bigger club like Kotoko will be a dream come true. I'm ready to help Duncan win any trophy.”

McCarthy was part of Ghana's 2006 World Cup squad in Germany and represented the West African country during the CHAN tournament in Cote D'voire in 2009.
