BA United Chief Executive Roy Arthur is seething at the Ghana U20 snub for their defender Stephen Anokye Badu for this year's World Cup.

Badu, a centre back, was a member of the 21 players named for the just ended 2013 African Youth Championship in Algeria.

He played one match- in the final Group B match against Mali- which Ghana lost 1-0.

Badu was the only player from the Senegal tournament who was dropped by head coach Sellas Tetteh in naming his provisional 35-man squad for the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup.

“As CEO of BA United I'm devastated by the fact that arguably our best player since division and one of the best defenders in Ghana could not make the squad,” Arthur told GHANASoccernet.com

“He was a pillar for U20 during the qualifiers and even played full 90 minutes in Africa.

“After Africa, his first game ensured BA United halted its losing streak and even won the best player in our match against AshantiGold.

“It's a big blow to the young player who has managed to endure hardship from Atronie to Sunyani before making it to the national team.

“I think the coaches, have killed one young talent who could easily have become the next Black Stars player but posterity will judge us all one day.”
