Black Stars captain Asamaoah Gyan has sued Maurice Ampaw and demanding an amount of GHS 5 million for damages caused by his comments on the disappearance of Ghana musician Castro.

The Al Ain forward believes the comments made by Maurice Ampaw after Castro's disappearance indicted his culpability and criminality and is seeking perpertual injunction to restrain lawyer Ampaw from repeating such comments.

The written court order filed by lawyer Kissi Agyabeng outlined that in a series of interviews with several media houses in Ghana, Maurice Ampaw had consistently insisted he knew where to find the missing Castro and also called for Asamaoh Gyan's arrest as though the former Sunderland player had something to hide in the Castro case.

Maurice Ampaw is also believed to have alleged that attempts were made by close associates of Asamaoah Gyan to bribe Catro's mother with GHS 10 000 so she would stop searching for the missing musician.

The writ mentioned Kumasi-based radio station Metro FM, Accra-based Radio XYZ, Adom FM, Starr FM, Citi FM and Takoradi-based Sky Power FM as radio stations where lawyer Muarice Ampaw made the supposed comments.

The written court document also said relevant recordings of the interviews would be made available to the court to be played at the trail.

Musician Castro was reported missing on July 6, 2014 while on the Volta Lake at Ada. The missing musician went as part of a team Asamoah Gyan was enjoying his holidays with.

Asamoah Gyan is with his Al Ain club and did not play a part in both friendly games for the Black Stars against Senegal and Mali.

Black Stars coach Avram Grant left his captain out as he was recovering from an injury sustained with his club side.

Ghana lost the first friendly game against Senegal and drew the second with Mali.
