David Duncan started his coaching career with Asante Kotoko on a positive note, helping the defending league champions to beat home team Bechem United 3-1.

A brace by midfield genius Michael Akuffo and Ahmed Toure's header was enough for Kotoko to amass the three points at stake.

The win, which is the first in as many games for Kotoko, without doubt, would boost their confidence in the ongoing league.

Kotoko started the game on a blistering note by opening fire on their opponents which resulted in the opener under just one minute.

Michael Akuffo, after playing a one-two with Ahmed Toure, delivered a low drive past Ernest Adu in goal for Bechem United.

Kotoko's lead lasted less than three minutes, as Bechem United equalized from the spot through Noah Mantey's intelligent kick.

Ahmed Toure ensured that Kotoko went to thedressing room for the first half on top, as his powerful header zoomed into the net.

From recess, Kotoko maintained their composure and registered a third goal when Michael Akufo's sublime free kick entered the net.

In another match, Gilbert Fiamenyo continued his heroics for Hearts of Oak as he scored a brace to power the Phobians to a comfortable 2-0 win over struggling Brong Ahafo United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
