Baffour Gyan has denied reports that his brother Asamoah Gyan has decided to start taking penalties for Ghana again.

The Black Stars captain is reported to have rescinded his decision not to take penalties for Ghana after staying away from taking spot kicks since 2012.

But Baffour has said in plain words that he has no knowledge of the Al-Ain striker's decision saying, 'I cannot answer this. Honestly, I don't know where this is coming from.'

Gyan had come under severe verbal attacks for penalty misses, notable among them was the Ghana-Uruguay World Cup quarter final miss in South Africa in 2010.

Two years on, he replicated the anomaly in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations when Gabon co-hosted the event with Equatorial Guinea.

Thereafter, the striker vowed never to take spot kicks for his country as a sign of respect for his departed mother, Cecilia Love.

According to the former Sunderland man, his mother admonished him not to take penalties for Ghana as a result of the barrage of insults that greeted his last penalty miss against Zambia.

The player has since stood his grounds and was not part of the 10 players who took the penalties in the last Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea when Ghana lost 8-9 to Cote d'Ivoire.
