Sports News Setback: Donsah injured after 10 minutes in Cagliari loss
MAR 1, 2015 LISTEN

Cagliari may be forced to continue their fight for survival in Serie A without Ghanaian whizzkid, Godfred Donsah after the 18 year old sensation was forced off Sunday afternoon's 1-2 defeat at home to Hellas Verona.

Donsah had hardly got himself into the game when he was hauled off to be replaced by Brazilian, Juan Pedro following an injury after only ten minutes of play at the Stadio Sant'Elia.

Without the versatile Ghanaian youngster, Cagliari went on to lose at home, 38 year old Danielle Conti's injury time strike proving a mere consolation, not enough to match the strikes of Luca Toni and Argentine hitman Juan Gomez (after being on the pitch for seconds) for Hellas Verona.

1-2 it finished handing Cagliari a second straight home defeat and fourth in five games (one draw) as they remain on 20 points from now 25 games, sitting in 18th and last relegation spot.

"It 'a difficult period, but it is in these moments that we see the character. When I took over the team, I knew it would be a demanding journey. I can understand that the fans are disappointed," said Cagliari coach, Gianfranco Zola to sum up his disappointment.

It remains unclear the full extent of Donsah's injury as Cagliari chiefs wait eagerly on the teenage wonderkid who was making his 9th straight start in Serie A after braking into Giafranco Zola's first team in January, setting many of Europe's top clubs on a wild alert.

As at last week, the player's agent confirmed that Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs had all officially enquired about Donsah. Follow @thedonplato
