Ghanaian duo, Augustine Okrah and Francis Coffie are celebrating success in the CAF Champions' League with Al Merreikh after the Sudanese side survived the scare of Tanzanian side, Azam to advance 3-2 on aggregate on Saturday.

Azam had handed Al Merreikh a shock 2-0 defeat in the first leg at the Chamazi Stadium in Mbagala back on February, leaving the Sudanese giants to win by three goals in the second leg to qualify for the next stage of the 2015 edition of Africa's biggest club tournament.

Three goals Al Merreikh eventually did score but it wasn't without sweat with Okrah even suffering the pain of a penalty miss early in the second half with his side only leading only 1-0 and still chasing the tie.

In fact, the scoreline remained the same with Al Merreikh trailing 1-2 on aggregate entering the last 5 minutes of regulation time at the Al Merreikh Stadium in Ombdurman.

But goals from Ahmed in the 85th minute drew Al Merreikh 2-2 on aggregate before Kenyan, Langa drove in the third and decisive goal in injury time to hand Al Merreikh qualification and break Azam hearts.

It ensured progress to the first qualifying round and two ties away from making it into the group phase of the African Champions' League of 2015.

Also celebrating qualification on Saturday was the other Sudanese side, Al Hilal for whom another Ghanaian player, Nelson Lazgella who was voted the best midfielder in the Sudani Premier League last season after powering Al Hilal to the league title.

Al Hilal lost 0-1 in Zanzibar to KMKM but earn through on the back of their 2-0 victory in their home leg two weeks ago. Follow @thedonplato
