Assistant Black Stars coach,Maxwell Konadu could make a return to club football after being contacted by Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Allsports.com.gh understands the Kumasi based club are desperate to capture Konadu who led the team to a league title in 2012 on a short term contract till the end of the season.
The management of the beleaguered defending champions have struggled to find a replacement for the now departed Masud Didi Dramani with a section of fans against the appointment of former Hearst of Oak boss David Duncan.
Kotoko's overtures at Duncan have been further dampened by a case brought against him before the Player Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association by another premier league side,Accra Great Olympics.
A source close to the ongoing talks revealed to Allsports.com.gh that though Konadu was receptive about taking on the job,he had reservations about combining his current role as a national team trainer with the Kotoko job.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko currently lie 13th in the league and are without a win in their last four games.
