Role model: Boakye Yiadom mentors Atalanta kids
28.02.2015 LISTEN

Richmond Boakye Yiadom is glowing in the honour of being one of four Atalanta first team players chosen to serve as role models for the team's kids side preparing for the Young Tim Cup.

Yiadom along with 22 year old Italian midfielder Danielle Baselli, 34 year old Italian defender Gianpaolo Bellini and 24 year old midfielder Marco D'Alessandro were the first team players selected to mentor and inspire the young teenagers and aspiring professional footballers.

And for Boakye, it's part of a dream come true to serve as role model for Italian kids even at his own relatively young age of 22.

"It was about Young Tim Cup so they chose old players and young players to go play with the kids. It was a very emotional and special time and I enjoyed every bit of it," Boakye Yiadom explained to Allsports.com.gh exclusively from his Bergamo base.

"I was very happy to be chosen to be a role model for these kids and also impact on society," the Ghanaian striker added.

Boakye meanwhile is fired up for Sunday's Serie A match day 25 fixture when he comes face to face with compatriot and very good friend, Afriyie Acquah as Atalanta host Sampdoria with both sides desperate for a win.

"I have won against him before when he was at Parma and I will win on Sunday because I'm ready to score again," Boakye Yiadom told us full of poise. Follow @thedonplato
